BESS Update Jan 2025: Statkraft and Immersa
press release 21 01 25 Statkraft and Immersa
Planning situations update on Statkraft and Immersa Planning Applications
Statkraft
The Statkraft application expires on 21st January, today.
Following my conversation with planning, I can confirm all prestart conditions have been discharged, and the documents will be uploaded to portal.
We understand it is the landowner who is undertaking work on site, to try and implement the consent before it expires. I have also asked that the planning department investigate possible enforcement action.
At the time of writing no new application has been submitted by Statkraft, which would imply that they are at least not proceeding with the current application. If they were they would have implemented their own consent.
Local knowledge leads us to believe that Stakraft will not be proceeding, but this is by no means a certainty. However once expired it would require a new application controlled by the latest requirements
Immersa
We are informed that the landowner has no agreement with the applicant to sell / lease anything more than 3.5, acre, 100MW development, and that negotiations have stalled. This may explain why the application has been dormant for an extended period
